Let’s take a look at a company: Do you know their
  • Strategy?
  • Market positioning?
  • Owner?
  • Current challenges?
And now the contact person in the company: Do you know their
  • Expectations of you, of their company?
  • Professional/private goals?
  • Hobbies?
  • Goals in the project?
I am always surprised that the customer is often an unknown entity. A lot of knowledge about this is in individual heads and is often not stored anywhere. Talking and listening is an important virtue that not everyone is born with. In the last 12 months, it has not always been easy, as we have missed the numerous meetings, coffee machine conversations and joint lunches as important, irreplaceable sources of information. Virtual meetings are great, you save time BUT these small, quite important conversations and sources of information are missing.

Now I have data, but still do not know anything!

Compared to the year 2000, we have access to an immense treasure trove of data. This data comes in all sorts of formats from all sorts of internal and external sources. You are probably also one of the approximately 3.5 billion people who were on social media platforms in 2020, and at home, there may be one of the approximately 30 billion connected devices. Generating data is a no-brainer. Let’s also add the data that ERP systems generate on an ongoing basis.

Their informational value individually may be negligible but intelligently combined it is the so-called “new gold”.

CRM Analytics – The Answer?

Let’s focus on modern CRM tools. These offer a variety of possibilities, but they always remain in their own CRM world with data management and analytical capabilities. The challenge is manifold:

  • How do I link data from ERP and CRM systems?
  • How do I measure and increase the CLTV (Customer Lifetime Value)?

This question has accompanied us for many years, both internally and with customers, and we have solved it in numerous projects.
In our webinar, we will show you how to load campaign and deal data from a non-SAP CRM system into SAP BW. The challenge here is the interface and storing the data in a data model optimized for reporting. For reporting, we will use SAP Analysis for Office and SAP Analytics Cloud.
